Job opening: Actuary Head of In-force Management (Life/Annuity)

Questpro is excited to be partnering with one of the most innovative companies in the Life Insurance industry. Term, UL and Whole Life. 

As one of the leaders in In Force Management, you will responsible for proactive management of the in-force business while maintaining the commitment to contractual policyholders. Responsibilities also include maintaining the traditional reinsurance programs for both the in-force business and the design, pricing and implementation of new products. This role will report directly to the Chief Actuary and will have (high visibility).

Core Responsibilities of this role includes:

  • Maintain traditional reinsurance programs and develop new programs as needed. This will include such things as: Analysis of reinsurance bids, rate change risk oversight, treaty negotiation, amending current treaties, relationship building with reinsurers, retention level optimization, capital and surplus analysis, reporting to senior leadership.
  • Oversight and development of Treaties for New Products which will include areas such as: Review of the terms and amendments, Review of “test cases” (Life Pro), guidance on complex calcs.
  • Managing the “in force blocks” for Life and Annuity (UL, Whole Life and Term) which will include: statistical analysis and model development for profit optimization, policy holder “behavior modeling”, “projected value” modeling, optimization of “premium scales”, review of Life Pro case studies, reporting to senior leadership.
  • Oversight and review of state and federal rules and regulations including: Impact assessment, risk mitigation as a result of changing rules or regulations and reporting to leadership.
  • Oversight and development of “projection models” related to the in-force business including: custom model creation and modifications for product design and pricing, embedded value, reporting to leadership.
  • Assumption analysis of the in-force business including: development and oversight of “projection models”, reconciliation and reporting to leadership.

To be considered for this role you will need to have this experience:

8 to 10 or more years of Life Insurance Actuarial experience

3+ years of management/leadership experience

Experience with both Term and UL

Experience working with Reinsurance and associated RFP’s and Treaties

Bachelors degree in Mathematics or similar discipline

FSA

Strong communication skills and confidence in front of sr leaders

Excellent project management skills

The ability to “see around the corner” and trouble shoot as needed

This is a full time permanent position offering competitive salary and bonus with a total compensation (Base plus Bonus) package in the 150-200k range plus outstanding benefits which includes both a matching 401k and a pension. Relocation assistance will also be fully covered. This position is not eligible for remote.
