Job Description


Benefits Account Manager needed for growing agency.  Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of account management experience within an agency setting.  Will be responsible for the service and maintenance of a block of business including groups ranging from small to large in size (25-300 lives).  




  • Minimum 5 years’ account management experience, preferably in a life/health, employee benefits or provider organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefit coverages to include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare reform and compliance requirements for Employers.
  • Ability to read, understand and analyze life coverages, forms and policies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with various clients, carriers, company personnel, and team members.
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • Active TX Life & Health license
  • Professional designations preferred (CEBS, CLU, etc.)
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel and meet with clients to provide information/materials, assist with employee meetings and other needs as necessary.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; the ability to prioritize work and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to consistently participate both internally and externally in educational opportunities, continuing education requirements to maintain licensing, and other opportunities to enhance knowledge and information relevant to employee benefits topics.
  • Willingness to attend on-site vendor trainings and meetings.
  • Ability to keep current on industry trends to include legislative and compliance issues.
  • Ability to work extended hours and assist in other work related duties as necessary.
