Customer Service Representative - Insurance

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Customer Service Representative demonstrates the technical ability, knowledge and maturity to create value for clients and fellow team members. Enjoyment of helping people & the unique ability to form and grow lasting relationships is required. As the initial point of contact for clients, you will be responsible for furthering our goal to be helpful and provide industry leading service. You will be responsible for providing certificates of insurance, taking payments, assessing client needs and supporting agency account managers. Expertise working with professional liability insurance is a must for long term success. The willingness to learn other lines of coverage and account management skills are a path for advancement.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer incoming phone calls
  • Monitor and respond to incoming emails for new business & service requests.
  • Support agency team through providing a consistent/reliable point of contact for clients and prospects
  • Process policy change requests
  • Provide certificates of insurance
  • Accept policy payment
  • Maintenance of AMS Management System and Document Management System
  • Maintain professional attitude, stability and tolerance in multi-task, time-critical environment.
  • Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients including professionally written, concise and clear email communications
  • Provide timely response to client inquiries and requests
  • Help to develop or improve agency process and workflows
  • Manage and prioritize workload in accordance with agency standards
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities including unexpected client requests
  • Commitment to continuing education, professional growth and development








  • At least 1 year customer service or professional experience
  • High school or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Texas Property and casualty license exam & Texas Life & Health exam for continued employment. We will pay for license exam prep as necessary.

  • Experience working with insurance agency management systems is a plus.
  • Industry experience is a plus.

  • Excellent telephone and writing skills (email) with emphasis on etiquette, spelling and grammar
