Position: Director of Corporate Communications



Position Purpose

Provide corporate support, direction and strategic planning of company resources associated with the activities in Corporate Communications, Marketing and Sales under the direction of the COO.  Work in an effective and efficient manner providing excellent service externally and internally. 




Principal Duties/Responsibilities


  • Drive strategy, tactics and programs to create interest, demand and recognition for top rated Life Insurance Carrier and its products through the use of public relations, advertising, strategic relationships, sponsorships, and online marketing activities.
  • Plan, organize, staff, train and manage communications/marketing functions to achieve the broad company objectives of sales, growth, profits and visibility while ensuring a consistent marketing message and positioning on a national basis consistent with the corporate direction.
  • Manage a small team and multiple agencies to develop and place direct response, broadcast, internet, guerilla and event marketing, as well as creative development, website design, and collateral materials.  Responsible for brand management.
  • Participate as a member of the executive team in strategic executive level decision making providing executive leadership and corporate communications/marketing expertise.
  • Manage community relations including public relations and community participation in the communities in which we operate.  Represent the company as necessary.
  • Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities.
  • Develop and manage the company’s marketing budget.
  • Must hold a valid passport within one year of expiration.
  • Required to complete 8 hours of community service. Participation can only be done through the organizations that have been designated by Human Resources to each Sagicor business/office location. These hours are to be scheduled through your Department Manager. 







Qualifications

  • Possess a wide range of knowledge in insurance operations, procedures, products, sales distribution channels, sales environments and techniques.
  • Ability to determine industry market direction and provide corporate recommendations.
  • Ability to create and grow a high performance corporate marketing and communications team.
  • Strong decision making and project management skills.  Ability and flexibility to modify and adjust existing procedures to meet ever-changing corporate and marketing challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong computer skills and technical knowledge in all aspects of corporate communications, on line marketing strategies, product marketing and promotional strategies.


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Excellent interpersonal skills

Bachelor’s or advance degree with a minimum of 7-10 years progressive marketing management experience within the industry
