Job Description

Growing Wholesale Broker/MGA is seeking to add broker to team and open on expertise or experience level. Great Benefits package, top notch culture and support to help this individual grow quickly. 

Underwrite new and renewal business which includes solicitation, selection, rejection, and pricing of complex risks. Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations. Analyze quality and quantity of risks underwritten. Participate in the development of agency management strategy and contribute to the development and execution of agency plans. Develop client relationships and coordinate service team efforts. Through technical collaboration and guidance, work within established authority on assignments of increasing complexity.


  • Analysis of quality and quantity of risks underwritten and preparation of reports.
  • Contributing to the development of agency management strategy while leading the development and execution of the agency plans.
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to coworkers and working within highest level of authority on complex assignments.
  • Provide risk analysis to determine potential loss exposure.
  • Determine pricing levels and program structure needed to ensure account profitability.
  • Develop business plan with each assigned agency for profitability of book, growth, and renewal strategies.
  • Develop strong relationships with local Brokers/Agents.
  • Provide feedback to agents, producers, and internal management to focus on business plans and efficiencies.


  • A demonstrated proficiency in marketing and prospecting of business opportunities, as well as, relationship building and agency management skills is desired.
  • 5 - 7 years multi-line Commercial Property/Casualty and Workers' Compensation experience.
  • Knowledge of casualty coverage and loss sensitive deal structures; financial analysis, account management and collateral management, local market conditions as well as industry and current trends.
  • Underwriting territory and demonstrated relationships with the local distribution network
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management and support personnel
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to travel on a statewide basis.
  • Strong PC skills a must.
  • Strong sales and technical skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
